In Latin Latas, we believe that waste can also be a key resource for creating, learning, building community, and generating economic opportunities. Through Residuo Cero Lab, our active lab in Bogotá, we bring together environmental education, climate communication, waste transformation, and circular products that strengthen local communities.
Residuo Cero Lab is a living ecosystem organized around a physical nucleus: a house located in the San Luis neighborhood of Teusaquillo, Bogotá. This space serves as a local hub where the community, working recyclers, citizens, businesses, artists, educational institutions, and environmental education programs come together.
In one of the world’s most biodiverse country, much of the recyclable waste ends up buried or polluting rivers, forests, and oceans. Many regions face poor connectivity, high transportation costs, and few opportunities to process materials locally. That is why the circular economy needs community-based, adaptable, and sustainable models.
